Maria Blouse
/I have an extensive fabric collection that has been carefully curated over many years.
Fine. I have a problem with fabric hoarding.
Yet with all of those options, for my latest project I ended up using a polka dot flat sheet I bought many, many years ago on clearance at Walmart.
I still think it was a great choice! It adds a pop of fun colors to a simple, classic blouse. I could have added a contrasting collar, but I just got carried away cutting from that huge sheet and never thought about it. (I also don’t know what to do with the remaining 90% of the sheet.)
The pattern I used is the Maria Blouse by Suco by Susana. It is one of the new patterns added to the Project Run and Play shop. Fabric choice is just one way to customize this blouse. It has options for long sleeves, puff sleeves, or ruffle sleeves. You can choose a classic, peter pan collar or a ruffled collar. The shirt can also be made with a gathered bottom. I suppose I chose the least adventurous of the options.
I did add one tiny, bold detail. The bias binding under the collar was made from orange swirl cotton.
It is time for some EXCITING NEWS!!!! Project Run and Play is adding several new patterns to the shop and hosting a blog tour to introduce them. The Maria Blouse is just one of EIGHT new patterns being added, so you will want to be sure to check out the other posts to see them all over the next few weeks.
Of course, what would a pattern release/blog tour be without a good sale?
Use the code newpatterns20 for 20% off your entire purchase in the Project Run & Play shop!
If you buy 3 or more patterns, use the code newpatterns25 for 25% off your entire purchase.
(Pattern collections are already discounted and excluded from the sale. Sale ends at midnight EST June 30.)
Last, but not least, Project Run and Play is allowing me to give away one pattern of your choice from their shop! Head on over to my Instagram account to enter!
