DIY Collage Shelf (and Canvas Factory Giveaway)
/I love taking pictures, but I never got “real” senior photos of my son. It is a long story, but mostly he was being difficult. I did snap a few for the yearbook, but I never printed any out for family because I was hoping for the full photo shoot he promised me.
He graduated in 2018. Do you think it is too late? Probably.
So, when Canvas Factory offered me a free photo canvas I decided that it was the perfect time to get an “official” senior portrait for my wall.
(I never put pictures of my son on the blog, so this is an exception. Just don’t tell him. OK?)
I also decided that it was the perfect time to act on another grand idea… a photo shelf! I had considered a collage wall to cover up the ugly paneling as much as possible. I was afraid it would be too “busy” and I also have a hard time narrowing down which pictures I want to use. A shelf means it is easy peasy to change things out. I plan on switching them up seasonally.
Currently, though, it is tribute to my only son. You see, when the canvas arrived my daughters were all very jealous! It annoyed me, so I decided to use only pictures of their brother for the first collage display.
My husband made the shelf and it is just some rough cut wood that was in the garage. We measured the wall to decide on a length. Then, he cut three pieces of 3/4” thick wood: two of them are 2” wide and the other one is 1 1/2” wide. He nailed them all together and then screwed the shelf into the wall.
The canvas is really the focal point of the collage. I will probably move my other canvas (see it HERE) to do the next collage, since that one has all of the kids pictured. I love the quality of their canvases! I chose to have the picture wrap around the sides but they have a lot of options and sizes. You can visit their website HERE to see more!
Are you as jealous as my daughters?
Well, you can win one of their canvases!!! Canvas Factory has generously offered to give one of my blog readers a 20x16inch or 18-12inch canvas. The giveaway offer is open only for USA and Canada residents.
All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post letting me know what you would have printed on your photo canvas. The giveaway will close on September 13, 2019 at 12pm and a winner will be drawn at random.
Thank you again to Canvas Factory for your generosity! I received the canvas at no charge, but all opinions are my own.
