Halloween Blocks Kids Craft

I don’t actually miss the elementary years, but I do miss the class parties!

One of the best was a Halloween party for 3rd grade. We did rotating stations with a craft and activity at each spot. The crafts were these Halloween blocks.

Halloween Class Party Craft- wood blocks

Overall, it was pretty simple class party.

One station included drawing the ghost faces and Halloween Bingo (the free printable I used is no longer available).

At the next station they played “pumpkin pictionary” - I found the idea HERE but decorated a can instead of a jar and used their spelling word list. They also drew the jack-o-lantern block faces and decorated the stems with ribbon and pipe cleaners.

For my station, I dressed up as a mad scientist and did some chemical reaction demonstrations. I also let the kids help insert Frankenstein’s bolts using my cordless impact driver, which they thought was pretty special. (I always tried to incorporate some STEAM activities in the parties because I really do miss teaching math and science.)

Back at their desks, the kids got to decorate paper gift bags with sticker kits so that they had something to carry their blocks and treats home and we had time to pass out the food.

The kids definitely had fun making their blocks! Of course, being kids, they came us with some pretty wild-looking faces!
