Sleeveless Lynx Dress Tutorial

I tend to think outside the box, though. A few years ago I sewed a sleeveless version of the Lynx pattern- only because my daughter hit a growth spurt while I procrastinated finishing. I thought it would be fun to do that again- this time on purpose- and share a tutorial!
I decided to make this an upcycle project, too. I started with a rayon women’s skirt that was too big for me. My daughter loves purple flowers and this fabric never wrinkles!
This is such a minor change to the original pattern, but it really does create an entirely different look! Here is how I did it:
SLEEVELESS LYNX HACK TUTORIAL
Only print the bodice and skirt/dress pieces- obviously you won’t be using the sleeves! Trim 3/8” seam allowance from the sides of the bodice and arm scythe of the bottom. The only other possible change would be to make the double fold binding a little longer - just in case- but I haven’t needed extra.
Cut your fabric with the revised pattern pieces. Sew the sides together and sew the front and back bodices to the lower portions.
(I added crochet lace to the front.)
Sew the double fold bias tape to the arm scythes.
Make sure to keep the binding pulled snug so that it lays flat when you are finished.
Sew the neck band on as per the original instructions. Hem.
That is it! Pretty easy, right? It is a really simple and fast dress to sew!
