Pantone Party Viva Magenta
/Today I get to kick off the newest Project Run and Play Pantone Party! The color of the year isViva Magenta and I knew that it would be perfect for a little Galentine’s Day photo shoot!
My sponsor was Art Gallery Fabrics and they have so many gorgeous designs. I couldn’t choose so I let my daughter pick out her favorite knit floral and added some coordinates.
My daughter wanted a Coral Wrap Dress and I think the Buna Blue bands accent the Garden of Dreams Rogue print so well!
For my niece I sewed a Lemon Tee in Striped Apart Pink with Deep Dark Ocean bands. I used both blue knits to make a Girl on the Go Stoplight Skirt.
The girls had so much fun with their photo shoot!
But… I couldn’t stop there! I had another idea and I just HAD to go with it!
What little girl wouldn’t love matching BFF shirts? Since I had the Lemon Tee pattern on my sewing table and they are the same size except for the legs, I cut two from the Buna Blue knit and added heart appliques from the pinks on the side seam.
But, since I forgot about those longer legs my daughter had to stand on one of my old college textbooks to get those hearts to line up! Haha!
My niece wanted a pair of Rocky Shore Tights so I used the rest of the Garden of Dreams Rogue knit.
I sewed my daughter a shortened Girl on the Go Stoplight Skirt (because again, the pattern was already on the table!) The striped panels turned out super cute!!!
To be honest, if I was going to do something like this again, I would probably put the hearts on long sleeves because it would be easier to line them up standing side by side. It still turned out cute!
Be sure to follow along with Project Run and Play to see more Viva Magenta designs this month!
