AGF A Year in Petals

I have never sewn with Art Gallery Fabrics flannel before and it did NOT disappoint! This stuff is every bit as soft and squishy as they say, and made a perfectly warm dress for my niece.

The latest AGF collection designed by Bonnie Christine, A Year in Petals, includes two flannel prints. I used Garden Sonnet Dim to create a Lavender dress with the long sleeves and simple skirt options. It has vintage, yellow buttons on the back and is accessorized with a reversible Constellation Collar. As a finishing touch I added a perfectly matching label on the bottom of the skirt.

I also sewed a quilted Seashell Satchel. I simply quilted the main and lining layers before adding the binding and straps. The quilt blocks are opposite on opposite sides which makes a fun reversible effect. It turned out a little larger than I originally planned so I actually kept it to use as a laptop bag. Oh, and I had to add another label, too!
